Course Descriptions and Learning Objectives 

This continuing education course is designed for psychologists, social workers, and counselors who seek to deepened their understanding of ethical reasoning in mental health practice. The first session will provide an in-depth exploration of Dr. Heitt's CLEAR+ lenses model, an integrative approach to ethical decision-making that equips clinicians with practical tools to navigate complex ethical dilemmas. The second part will begin with a brief review of the model, followed by interactive discussions and the application of CLEAR+ lenses to real-world case scenarios. Participants will engage in collaborative analysis, enhancing their ability to apply ethical principles in their daily practice. This course aims to empower clinicians to make sound ethical decisions with greater confidence and clarity, strengthening their commitment to professional integrity in a variety of clinical situations. 

This is a 2 part programs. Attendees can participate in only Part 1, however you can not participate in Part 2 without attending Part 1.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to list and access relevant resources to guide their ethical decision-making. 
2. Participants will be able to identify and describe the components of the CLEAR+ lenses model as a primary tool to assist in ethical decision-making. 



Speaker Bio - Dr. Michael Heitt, PsyD

Dr. Michael Heitt is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Baltimore, MD. The primary focus of his clinical and consultative activities centers around working with physicians, executives, and other professionals who are dealing with personal and occupational challenges. He consults to small and large organizations on a variety of workplace and organizational issues and is recognized by local Courts as being an expert witness in the fields of Clinical and Forensic Psychology.

Dr. Heitt has presented internationally on topics ranging from workplace violence and professional impairment to human resources and personnel development, as well as topics such as psychological ethics, disaster psychiatry and clinical assessment. He is a member of the Maryland Psychological Association's (MPA) Ethics Committee and has formerly been the Chair of MPA's Ethics Committee and Colleague Assistance Program.

Dr. Heitt earned his Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago in 1996.  He's been a faculty member of the John Hopkins University and Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, he is the instructor for the Maryland State Juriprudence Licensure Exam preparatory course offered by MPA.

Cancelations for Enhancing CLEAR Ethical Decisions for Counselors, Social Workers, & Psychologists must be made no later than one week prior to the program date, and refunds are subject to a 10% processing fee. No refund option will be available for cancelations made less than one week prior to that program date. No-shore registrants will forfeit any payment made for the program. CHEP does not offer vouchers for cancelations for these conferences.
